James Galm
Board Member
James M. Galm serves on Type One Energy’s Board of Directors in addition to serving as Co-founder, Technical Advisor and Board Director at LayerZero Power Systems, Inc. He has more than 40 years of experience in electrical engineering, research, manufacturing and product development. He designed most of LayerZero’s product lines, including power and signal circuit design, software creation, mechanical layout and production readiness. The company grew to become the world leader in ultra-reliable AC distribution equipment for mission critical applications like AI, machine learning, and hyperscale computing industries, before selling a majority interest in LayerZero to a global private equity firm in 2025. Prior to LayerZero, he held several roles at Cyberex, Inc., including Vice President of Technology, Vice President of R&D, R&D Manager and Senior Research Engineer. He holds nine patents and has published many scholarly articles in peer-review journals. Dr. Galm holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, M.S. in Electrical Engineering and B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Applied Physics from Case Western Reserve University.
